The British Club Bangkok opens its doors to a number of community organisations, Chambers of Commerce, Masonic Lodges and social groups who are allowed to use the Club's facilties on a regular basis.  They are classified as ‘ASSOCIATED GROUPS’.

 

Australia-New Zealand Women's Group (ANZWG)

ANZWG has for more than 50 years played a major part in the lives of expatriate women who have been lucky enough to reside in this fascinating yet sometimes challenging city. ANZWG's main role is to promote friendship amongst its members and to encourage them to support each other during their stay here in Thailand.

Australians In Thailand

Well the title is a bit of a giveaway but AIT is the foremost social group for Australians and people who have a close affiliation with Australia living or working in Thailand. Established in 1996, AIT welcomes all those from Australia into their membership.

BAMBI

BAMBI, (Bangkok Mothers and Babies International), is the premier group in Bangkok for those who have just had a baby and those with children under five. The group meets regularly at the Club every Thursday but has dozens of other functions around town - in addition to being a social group, BAMBI provides pre-natal and post-natal support for mothers, and undertakes a significant volume of charitable work.

Bangkok Gentlemen Spoofers

The Bangkok Gentlemen Spoofers was founded in 1988 and is the longest-running spoofing school in S.E. Asia. Spoof is played in the Churchill Bar every Tuesday evening from about 8.30pm onwards. The BGS hosts two championships during the year, the Thai National Spoofing Championships and the Asian Spoofing Championships, both of which raise a considerable amount of money for the benefit of Thai children.

Bangkok Music Society

The Bangkok Music Society supports the performance and appreciation of music in Thailand and its membership attracts music lovers of all nationalities. The BMS Choir includes singers from over 15 countries and performs in a range of musical styles, from the classics to musicals. BMS offers opportunities to support and participate in regular in-house concerts and larger public performances. Local artists are encouraged, and BMS sponsors scholarships for young talented Thai musicians.

British Chamber of Commerce Thailand

The oldest of all the foreign Chambers of Commerce, BCCT was founded in 1946 and has over 600 member companies. The BCCT holds many meetings every month in Bangkok and on the Eastern Seaboard. Full details are available on their website.

British Women's Group

What else can one say … a group of British women who meet virtually daily for an extraordinary range of activities … bridge, mahjong, cooking, needlework, golf, yoga etc etc, and give a very warm welcome to all. BWG is also involved with community and charity projects, and raise funding for humane causes. Started in 1969, the group has over 200 members all over Bangkok.

Committee for Coordination of Services to Displaced Persons in Thailand

Better known as CCSDPT, this organisation was established in 1975. Membership comprises all Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) providing humanitarian assistance to refugees from Burma, and its members currently provide food, shelter, health and educational services to approximately 150,000 refugees along the Thai-Burmese border. The meetings were originally held at the YMCA on Sathorn Road but moved to the British Club in 1983 when the YMCA was demolished for redevelopment. CCSPDT has thus been meeting at the Club for 30 years.

An impressive group of professional engineers who meet monthly at the Club for far-ranging discussions from Bangkok’s Mass Transit System to Samut Prakarn’s sewers! SPET meetings are lively events which are open to all Club Members to attend. Guest speakers dominate the calendar as do a few beers afterwards!

Thai Canadian Chamber of Commerce
