Tennis
The British Club has a thriving tennis section with members enjoying the sport socially and competitively across the full spectrum of playing levels.
Onsite at the club we have 4 top quality plexipave tennis courts which are open daily from 06:00 – 22:00. All British Club members have access to book tennis courts through the poolside reception. This can be for a game with friends or a practice session with one of the club’s registered knockers or coaches. The cost for a court is 50 baht during daylight hours and 100 baht from 18:00.
If you really want to get involved though, why not join The British Club Tennis Section? We currently have approximately 150 members with a wide variety of playing levels from beginners to club players, to ITF champions.
The section holds weekly ‘Mix Ins’ ins’ every Wednesday & Friday evening 6pm – 9pm and on Sunday afternoons 4pm – 7pm. This is social tennis, open to all members. Liquid refreshments are usually enjoyed together after play. There is also a ladies ‘Mix In’ every Friday morning 8am – 11am (contact the fitness centre for details). If you’d like to join a ‘Mix In’ you can email bcts.bangkok@gmail.com or turn up at the above times and ask one of the poolside reception staff to help you get started.
Additionally, we run three ‘fun tournaments’ annually for players of all levels (The Womble Cup, The Great Wide Open, and our charity event The Bruce Gordon Cup). For the singles players, we have a competitive singles league with 7 Divisions comprising of 5-6 players per division. Matches are played in a round-robin format at mutually agreed times within an 8-week window for each league series.
The jewel in the section crown is the annual British Club Tennis Section Club Championships which run from January to mid-March each year and culminate with the fantastic Club Champs Party on the front lawn.
We hope that 2021/22 will see the return of our friendly interclub matches both with teams from in Bangkok and those visiting from overseas and also a return of the prestigious Interclub Doubles Tournaments of which The British Club are the reigning champions in the men’s event.
